Blueberry Gelee Body Scrub by The Body Shop | Review

Warning: This product is not edible... But you'll kind of wish it was.

It looks like jam, smells like jam, and thankfully, isn't nearly as sticky as jam. This body scrub is perfect for every day use. It's not too rough, yet effective. Usually, I like my body scrubs fairly gritty, but was pleasantly surprised by how much I like the texture of this one.

Summer Must Have - The Body Shop's special edition blueberry scrub!

I love to use it on my legs to prevent ingrown hairs - an unfortunate side effect of epilating that disappears with the use of a good scrub.  This gets the job done, while remaining gentle enough for daily use. Plus, it doesn't leave any sort of oily film on your skin afterwards, which means that it's great for days when you're in a hurry.

The only thing that might put you off is the smell. The raspberry version of this is a people-pleaser, a scent that's easy to love. But the blueberry scrub is definitely a love it or hate it kind of fragrance. My husband and I both prefer the raspberry, but I know people who would be head over heals for the blue. The blueberry's not artificial smelling, but lets off a strong scent while you're applying. Imagine spreading actual all-fruit blueberry spread all over your arm. That's what this smells like.

However, as soon as you wash it off the scent disappears. So it's really not that big of a deal. The texture of this totally makes up for it not being my favorite smell.

Overall: If you're buying this as a gift for someone, go for the raspberry. It's a safer bet. If you're buying it for yourself, see if you can smell it in the shop before picking it up. Personally, I adore using this as a daily exfoliant, and would definitely recommend it.
