La Fête du Travail

Are you ready to hear about one of the cutest holidays ever?

It's called La Fête du Travail (Labor Day). It's the first of May. Nobody works. 

Families get together for BBQ's (unless it rains). It welcomes in Spring and warmer weather. People are happy.

But you know what the best part is?

Lilies of the Valley

Les Muguets

It's a little wild flower that starts popping up in May. They are collected from fields on the countryside and then sold on the side of the road for La Fête du Travail. It costs about 2-3€ for a small bouquet.

Ensuite, you give Les Muguets to your loved ones.

They are said to bring good luck and happiness.

Les Muguets are the little white ones that look like bells!

Monsieur Right and I went hunting for them in the pouring rain/sunshine this morning. It was wonderful. Depsite, the odd weather we still found some faithful vendors on the side of the road. Cute, right?
